Paper'
on Growing Terrorism
New Delhi
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Wednesday demanded a white paper on
the growing incidents of terror throughout the country since the
United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government came to power in 2004.
"The way terrorism has spread under the Congress/UPA government is a
matter of serious concern. The government has lit the sparkle of
secularism standing on the dump of explosive terrorism," said
Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, BJP vice president and former Rampur MP.
"The UPA government should give a detailed explanation of how
terrorism has spread all over the country in its three and a half
years of their rule and issue a white paper on this," he said.
Naqvi was speaking to newsmen here after visiting the site of the
terrorist attack on the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in
Rampur in Uttar Pradesh Tuesday.
He had accompanied party president Rajnath Singh to the spot in a
chartered helicopter.
About the attack, he said: "These terrorists were not fidyayeen
(suicide attackers). None of them was killed or injured and since
there is a lot of arms and ammunitions stocked there, they have
taken away huge quantity of arms and ammunition with them."
He regretted that the local administration did not allow the
helicopter to land near the spot, pleading that the police was still
involved in anti-terror operations.
