schoolboy untraced, another abducted
Patna,
As the whereabouts of six-year-old Ankit remain unknown even four
days after his abduction from outside his school here, another
school student was abducted in Bihar.
Chief
Minister Nitish Kumar has asked top police officials to find Ankit,
who was abducted Thursday from outside St. Paul's School in Gaighat
locality.
Police said Sunday that a Class 2 student, Sagar Kumar, was abducted
from Pankhatoli locality of Muzaffarpur, about 70 km from here, two
days ago.
Police have launched a search to trace the missing boy.
Meanwhile, another missing school student, Narendra Mohan, was found
late Saturday night. The boy had been abducted last Wednesday from
Darbhanga town and was found in a village in Madhubani district.
According to police, a manhunt has been launched to trace Ankit. He
was allegedly lured with an ice cream when he came out of the school
Thursday and then abducted, a police official said.
Four people have been detained for interrogation, Patna S.S.P.
Kundan Krishnan said.
Police sources said they have zeroed in on a domestic servant,
Balram Paswan, who has been missing since the abduction.
Ankit's father Manoj Kumar Gope, who runs a grocery shop and a
beauty parlour, said they had not received a ransom call so far.
Police have also failed to trace a youth who was abducted in
Begusarai district on Wednesday.
Last week, the police recovered the body of an abducted 10-year-old
student in Munger district. The incident triggered violent street
protests.
Earlier this year, the Patna High Court directed the state
government to trace 144 children and 581 women who had been missing
since 2001.
