Rahul Will Help Congress Improve Performance: Priyanka

Congress president Sonia Gandhi's daughter Priyanka Vadra Saturday said her brother Rahul Gandhi would help the Congress party improve its performance in Uttar Pradesh, where the seven-phased assembly elections are currently underway.

Priyanka was replying to a query by media persons whom she had been eluding since she landed in the state capital Lucknow Friday morning.

"I am quite hopeful that with Rahul in the campaign, the Congress party's performance will improve in Uttar Pradesh," she told newsmen.

Priyanka, who was scheduled to return to New Delhi Sunday, said she would be here again after a week, when she would take charge of the entire campaign in each of the 12 assembly segments of Rae Bareli and Amethi parliamentary constituencies represented respectively by her mother and brother.
